Mount Kilimanjaro<\/strong> is also called \u201cthe roof of Africa<\/strong>\u201d because it\u2019s the highest on the continent. It\u2019s a massif <\/strong>that brings together three volcanic cones: Shira, Mawenzi <\/strong>and Kibo<\/strong>. And it\u2019s the summit of Kibo, called Uhuru Peak<\/strong> that at 5,895 meters<\/strong> represents the peak of Kilimanjaro. Above 3,000 meters the landscape is dominated by heathland and in particular by plants like giant lobelia and giant groundsel, while above 4,000 meters you find yourself in a rocky, lunar-looking desert<\/strong>.
