A gateway to Etosha National Park and beyond
Otjiwarongo is a town located in north-central Namibia and is often chosen as a convenient base for travellers wishing to visit the southern sector of Etosha National Park.
Just a short distance from the town is the Cheetah Conservation Fund, an internationally recognised organisation dedicated to the conservation of cheetahs and home to numerous rescued animals.
From Otjiwarongo, visitors can also reach the Waterberg Plateau, an impressive sandstone formation inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife. This protected area provides a refuge for both black and white rhinoceroses, several antelope species, cheetahs and more than 200 bird species, including Namibia’s only breeding colony of Cape vultures.
