Transfers are an integral part of the journey, and it is important to us that our guests feel at ease along the way. Owning our vehicles, and having drivers and guides who are part of the Africa Wild Truck team, as well as an in-house logistics office, allows us to organise and manage transfers ourselves and provide our travellers with a service worthy of the experience.
A fleet that’s always evolving
Our fleet is constantly evolving. We travel extensively and know what each itinerary requires, so we regularly renew our vehicles and often update their equipment.
Vehicles are chosen to combine reliability on the road, comfort and safety. They make it possible to cover even long distances with ease, reach remote places and manage the itinerary’s timing more effectively, without giving up the pleasure of enjoying the scenery and adventures.
Our fleet currently includes several vehicles of the following types:
- Nissan Urvan – 11 seats
- Land Rover Discovery 4×4 – 7 seats
- Nissan X-Trail 4×4 – 5 seats
Vehicles are selected for each trip according to the itinerary and the number of participants.
Professional drivers and guides
We can rely on a team of professional drivers and guides who have completed training in safety driving, first aid and sustainability, including Child Protection and Guides and Sustainability courses. They are qualified, locally trained professionals and permanent members of the Africa Wild Truck team.
They know the routes of our trips, including unpaved and unmarked tracks within parks and nature reserves. They know where the accommodations to reach are located and how long it takes to get there. To provide our travellers with the best possible service, our logistics team handles the paperwork arrangements for cross-border travel, helping to make border procedures easier.
Safety and comfort on the road
Africa Wild Truck’s vehicles are covered by passenger liability insurance specifically designed for the tourism sector. They also follow a regular maintenance schedule, with a full inspection every 5,000 kilometres. Similarly, each tyre is logged and monitored over time to help keep journeys safe and reduce the risk of unexpected problems.
Our vehicles carry 5 litres water containers, which are bought sealed by trusted water suppliers. To cut down on plastic usage during your trip, we always recommend bringing a reusable water bottle that you can refill along the way. It’s a small gesture that reduces the need for single-use bottles and helps you travel more responsibly.
For extra comfort, some of our 4×4 vehicles have an onboard Wi-Fi connection, so you can get online, check your email and keep in touch with home while on the road.
