A paradise of forests, wetlands and grasslands
At the foot of the Nyika National Park plateau lies a vast green wilderness: Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve, where forests, wetlands and grasslands create a rich and varied landscape. Its abundant vegetation and extensive wetland areas provide an ideal habitat for a wide range of mammal species.
Visitors may encounter herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as impalas, eland, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest and bushbabies. The reserve is also home to around 300 bird species, including storks, herons and white-faced whistling ducks.
