Community Levy: 1% of turnover dedicated to communities and the land

For us, travel is discovery but it’s also about responsibility. We’ve always been committed to creating sustainable tourism that has a positive impact on the land. And from this year we wanted to make that commitment even more tangible and structured.

Starting in 2025, we decided to donate 1% of Africa Wild Truck’s turnover – from trips, lodge & camp stays, the restaurant or any other activity – to support community and environmental conservation projects in the Mulanje region, Malawi.

Our connection to the local area is deep-rooted. It’s shown by the projects we’ve already completed over time through our non-profit association Around AWT. And with the 1% Community Levy we want to take one step further: guarantee a stable, ongoing and transparent contribution, dedicated to initiatives that improve the quality of life of local communities and protect the environment around us.

Traveling with Africa Wild Truck means this too: being part of a change, giving value back to the places that welcome you, through concrete choices. Making a positive difference, together. Because travel can do good, for those who leave and for those who stay.
