Walking safari

Walking safaris originated in South Luangwa National Park thanks to an initiative by Norman Carr, the park’s founder. Carr’s aim was to encourage a less invasive form of tourism. Indeed, a walking safari lets you build a deeper, more authentic connection with nature, in a more harmonious setting.

This type of safari can only be done in specific areas, but it allows you to explore a wide variety of ecosystems and enjoy many different experiences Between forests and grasslands, following tracks among the bushes and listening to distant calls, you might find yourself face to face with magnificent animals – the kind you usually see only in documentaries.

Face to face, but always at a safe distance, accompanied by a walking safari certified guide and an armed scout tracker, both of whom have deep knowledge of wildlife and are trained for your protection. This is organised only upon request.
